Skinny Brownies

Makes 16 Brownies (about 1.5 inch x 1.5 inch)

Per brownie (without walnuts): 83 calories, 5g fat, 8g carbs, 1.5g fiber, 3g protein (6.5g Net Carbs)

Per brownie with walnuts: 100 calories, 7g fat, 8.5g carbs, 1.5g fiber, 3.5g protein (7g Net Carbs)



  • 1/3 cup raw agave (honey can be substituted)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • *Optional: 1/3 cup chopped walnuts – although, I think walnuts are a necessity in brownies!


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together agave, apple sauce and eggs.
  3. Mix in the almond flour, cocoa powder, vanilla, salt and baking soda.
  4. If using walnuts, add in the walnuts and mix.
  5. Pour mixture into a greased (using nonstick spray) 8×8 baking dish.
  6. Bake for approx. 25 minutes
  7. Let cool for 5-10 minutes.
